Special section for S&T 2024 on Alister McGrath’s forthcoming book “The Nature of Christian Doctrine”

An additional section in course of the panel will be a discussion of Professor Alister McGrath’s upcoming book “The Nature of Christian Doctrine” (https://www.amazon.de/Nature-Christian-Doctrine-Development-Function/dp/0198901445). Responses of a number of scholars should each take 10 to 20 minutes (TBD); followed by a broader discussion of the book and the responses. Responses may result in a Special Issue. At this point, we ask for a brief indication in case you would be willing to participate with such a formal response, for instance with a focus on the interaction of Scripture and theology in “The Nature of Christian Doctrine”, its “use” of Scripture, or something else in line with the interests of the S&T-platform. As a courtesy of Alister McGrath, we could then make the book available to a very selected group of respondents for this purpose. If you are interested, please let Jacob Astudillo know asap (jacob.astudillo@umu.se). While Alister McGrath cannot be in Palermo for scheduling reasons, he will contribute to the book stemming from the Palermo-panel on “Scripture, Theology and Their Future” (working-title).
